In medeival times, one could find musicians on the streets on any given day. These wandering musicians were known as mintrels or troubadors. Often paid with food or lodgings, the minstrel never had much money of his own. However, his life was pleasurable enough because he was doing what he loved. A minstrel would perform stories through song, the most popular of which were about courtly love and knghtly adventures. Some minstrels enhanced their performances, adding dance or juggling. A minstrel's life was one of entertainment.
