HDI- an index that ranks countries by the leve of human development
High HDI-Very Developed Medium HDI-Developing Low HDI- Under Developed
I notice that most of the countries have a lower life expectancy tend to have a lower literacy rate.
The countries that have a lower HDI than the United States also seem to be lacking in literacy in literacy rates. They are also all surrounds by more than two countries, meaning they have a lot more interaction with neighboring countries. This would probably also call for more conflict and might therefore lead to tougher time developing.
I think the HDI is a lot more efficient at predicting a country’s “rank” than just GDP. This is because it take a lot more factors into account rather than just one.
HDI is formulated through the use of an equation the thats into account life expectancy, education, adult literacy, gross enrollment, and GDP.
