Teddy's School
Donate! only $40= 1 year of education
What It Truly Is Teddy's school is a preschool that educates kids wether they can afford their education or not. Having a basic education means everything because you need it to be successful and to have a general understanding of things. The school helps the children that attend it to move past the genocide and create a life that can be prosperous. Many of the children that attend the school cant afford to pay the $40 fee, but Teddy the principal never turns them down. This year there were 90 kids that couldn't pay their tuition and the seven teachers that work there and Teddy cut their paycheck to make up for the loss. The school is in poor condition, it is dark and has no electricity, the building is made of mud packed dirt and is falling apart, the bathrooms are in very poor conditions and the open area that the children have to play is lacking any grass. Create awareness! run/propose or be a part of fundraisers, have conversations abut it with people and urge people to take action because the more people that know about Teddy's School and are involved the better the outcome.
Continuation! continue to stay involved and motivated to help Teddy's school and the people effected by the Rwanda genocide.
Around 400 children attend the school and there are seven classrooms with one teacher per classroom. So each teacher at the school is given one classroom and 57 to 58 children to teach at once. The children at Teddy's school lack basic materials and supplies like paper, and pencils.
The issue that i feel needs to be addressed, that I view as urgent is that children of young age are being forced to take on adult responsibilities. The resign that I chose this topic is that I feel that this shouldn't go without being dealt with. All of the kids that etend the school have been affected by the genocide and having an education helps them build a future. Having this opportunity makes them fell like they've accomplished something, also basic education is the foundation that they'll needed through there life, and to me I feel that having something at the end of the day to look at and say I did this today and actually be able to see it and feel good about it, I think that means and goes a long way.
