What is Tragedy? Makes the experience of the main character the audiences' experience. It brings out the tragic lives within the audience through making connections in which the conclusion is catastrophic.

What is a Tragic?? The hero is normally a man of rank and the events he encounters create sudden misfortune. The story is based on the lines of internal and external conflict struggle with the hero or central figure. These forces then overcome him and he gives into the death it brings.
Why tragic flaws? Shows the greatness of the hero being fatal and shows that all have vulnerability in both physical and spiritual security.

Tragic Figures? Figures better than we are.
Tragic Structure: -Exposition: first and second acts that develope characters and and the situation from which the conflict occurs comes up. The setting is also placed. -Rising Action: Developement of Conflict -Falling Action: Opposing forces resist tragic hero -Tragic Resolution: Final acts as the conflict reaches full potential in defeating the hero.
How is Shakespeare a Tragedian? He writes of great loss and misfortune and his characters tend to suffer great sorrow.
