A Shakespearian tragedy is an imaginative description of a figure that moves the audience to pity and fear
The hero of a tragic story dies at the end of the story
A tragic story depicts a troubled part of a hero's life which leads up to his/her death
The external conflict in a tragedy tends to show the hero and another party in a dispute over something which is usually settled by the hero's death
The internal conflict is usually the hero making a decision over something really big that can affect his/her life
A common term used in a tragedy is catharsis, which means the foreshadowing of a downward movement
The hero of the story is a noble person who is better than your average everyday person
The hero of the tragedy always has a flaw and its to show how that flaw can affect their choices and their actions to different situations
Madness is wiser than sanity is a common principle for tragedies
By the end of a tragedy many of the main characters have died
