The Japanese Battle Plans
Japan's plan was to evacuate the U.S. from South East Asia because they required the use of South East Asia's resources. So Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor to make the U.S. troops in the Phillipines. This plan backfired on Japan however because it caused the U.S. to focus their attentiveness on Japan and Japan to lose valuable resources.
Pearl Harbor hurt in some ways both the U.S. and Japan. 4 battleships were sunk, 2 destroyers were sunk and 3 cruisers were damged. A 188 and 155 aircraft were also destroyed. There were 2,345 military officers killed, 1,247 were wounded, 57 civillians were killed, and 35 were injured. Most of these statistics were what set the U.S. off on Japan and decided to completely take them out.
