Dear Jim Hawkins, I believe that you and I relate to you more than the squire, the doctor, and the other characters in Treasure island. The reason that believe this is because we are both young men and we both love adventure, and that we are both kind to people and we are very polite to strangers. But we both can be on edge very easy, and we both can get very scared easily as well. Like with you and the mutiny on the Hispaniola, when you ran into the trees to hide and me with my fear of spiders. also both of us can or have our brave moments time to time. So Jim I firmly believe me and you are one in the same. From, Joshua Williamson

Treasure Island The title Treasure Island is very relevant to the story because in this book, a boy named Jim Hawkins finds a map that leads to an island that has treasure buried somewhere on it. A crew of very self respected and good pirates were assembled, along with Jim, a doctor, and a squire to find and hunt down this treasure and bring it back home. The ship they used was named the Hispaniola, and had a very stern and rule revolving captain. This captain did not like to pick favorites and was the one who was to get them to Treasure Island to find the buried treasure. The only thing the captain feared was a mutiny and had a good mind to fear because he actually had a mutiny happen to him on this journey. I believe this book's title is very relevant to the story line of Treasure Island.
Favorite pasages of Treasure Island One of my favorite pasages my favorite is (Fifteen men on the dead man's chest- Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest- Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!) (Ch. 1, pg.10)- I found this quote interesting/ appealing because it is talking about pirates basically are greedy, in which they always try to do anything to get money. Even killing your best frind to get it. Also how they are wicked people, who turn their back on the law. aslo about death, in which pirates are always facing death everytime they are on an adventure, or doing anything else.. and also how they are always striving to eat and meet ends meet. The other passage i thought was interesting was ( Many's the long night I've dreamed of cheese-toasted, mostly. Ben Gunn said to Jim.) (Ch. 15, pg. 142).- I found this interesting because it was kind of funny how, after this guy has been marroned on this island for 3 years. Is that the only peice of food he Really wanted and dreamed about having every night was toasted. cheese! If i was him i would want a whole buffet full of food and drink.
Controversial issue in Treasure Island The controversial issue in the book Treasure Island was the mutiny against the captain, the doctor, the squire, and the boy named Jim. It was an issue because some of the men thought it was wrong and they shouldn't have done it. Granted that some of the pirates on board thought that it was the right/only thing to do to get the treasure and if they got their hands on the treasure, they would use it for their own greedy pleasures. Some of the "good and honest " pirates stayed loyal to the captain, the boy, the squire, and the doctor, and stayed with them. But luckily the mutineers actually gave up and decided to make a truce so that all of them could work together to find the treasure on the island. I personally believe that was one of the most controversial issue between the pirates in the book.
