Elephants Hunting and the Ivory Trade In the 20th century it was estimated that elephants numbered between 5 and 10 billion now due to hunting and habbitat loss the number has dramatically lowered to 400,000 to 500,000. And in Chad the populatin wich used to varey from 300,000 has dropped to around 10,000 today. The ivory trade is the commercial, often illegal trade in the ivory tusks of the hippopotamus, walrus, narwhal, mammoth, and most commonly, Asian and African elephants.
Dog Fighting: Pitbulls are commonly used in a illegal blood sport called dog fighting. Where two aggressive dogs are put in a ring and fight eachother to the dealth for entertainment and money. Bait Dogs: Bait dogs are timmid dogs that the fighting dogs practice on usually either killing them or scarring them for life. In the case of footbal player Michael Vick weak dogs or ones that dont fight well where killed by either hanging, drowning, electracuting, or shooting the dogs. And also for breeding dogs organizers will use something called a rape rack, because the dogs are so agressive they will attack any dog that comes to close. But you most know this pitbulls are not aggressive dogs, they only are if the owner abuses them making it attack to defend for its life.
Stop Animal Cruelty
Shark Finning: Shark finning is a trade that in which fishermen will catch sharks and cut off the fins of a living shark and let its still living body sink to the bottom of the ocean. The shark dies a painful death by either suffication or something else eats it because it is un able to move. The shark fins are then transported to make shark fin soup which is popular in china. Now I dont even like the fact that they kill any animal but to only use one part of them and to let them suffer, that is unbelieveable.
Cockfight: Cockfight is also a illegal blood sport but is between two roosters being held in a ring called the cockpit. Two roosters are placed in the cocpit and they fight intil one is either dead or seriously injured. And to make things even worse sometimes the roosters are equipted with either metal spurs or knives where their natural spur has been removed. These knives or metal spurs attachted to the roosters has in some case killed the owners, think what could happen to another rooster
Sled Dog Industry: This is an article from Animal Sense BCSPCA~ The scene was horrific. Two hundred dogs languishing on a barren hillside, tied up by chains to barrels. No toys. No food. No social interaction. This is how sled dogs tipically live and can be quite shocking if you're not used to it. This was shocking enough for a forestry worker to report it to the BCSPCA as a cruelty complaint. Many of the dogs were grossly underweight with ribs and hip bones protruding from under dirty, dull coats. None of the dogs had any toys, and while their chains allowed them to come within feet of one another, actual play was impossible. Even after being removed from the neglect sled dogs frequently face months of rehabilitation because they are so undersocialized and fearful. Theve never been in a house, they don't know what stairs are, they've never seen furniture and they've never walked on linoleum. A life on a chain is NO life at all.
Farming: This is another article from Animal Sense BCSPCA: Male calves confide to small, barren crates and fed a liquid diet to produce pale white meat. Also seeing 50,000 birds crowded in cages stacked up to five rows high is not the most appealing sight. Yet this is the reality for 95 percent of Canadian egg-laying hens. While farmer are generally concerned aout the overall health of their animals, they fave an economic reality to produce high yeilds at the lowest possible cost. But what are the costs tho the quality of the animals? The BC SPCA measures these costs against the Five Freedoms: 1.) Freedom from hunger and thirst 2.) Freedom from pain, injury and diease 3.) Freedom from distress 4.) Freedom from discomfort 5.) Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being. Chikens are housed in extremely crowded quarters with mormally up to five to six birds per cage. And how piglets are castrated with out pain relief. Many people have asked Why is this legal? and im hoping some day things will change.

Rattlesnake Roundup: Rattlesnake Roundups are common throughout the Midwest and southern United States, where they round up rattlesnakes and either sell, kill, or trade the skins of the rattlesnake. In Texas in 2006 each anual roundup was said to result in the capture of 1 percent of the states rattlesnake population. SO these beautiful creatures are being killed for no more then a pair of pants and a good time and maybe one meal. On this pictures say more then words take a look.
