About the Author His Dark Materials trilogy has recieved a host of awards and accolades, including the Carnegie Medal (The Golden Compass, Book I) , a parents' choice Gold award (The Subtle Knife, book 2) and the Whit bread book of the year Award (The Amber spyglass, book 3).
About the Book The book is really good if you kind of had close personalities with the main charecter Lyra. The book has good adventure like going through rivers and villages and other lands which Lyra then learns how to act those places.
In the golden compass mostly everybody has this kind of pet but like a mini monster but that helps the person whoowns them and they are called Daemans and the some parts of the book have a little suspence in it.
