Mars is called the (Red Planet) for a reason.Its soil contains brick-colored mineral called Limonite.Limonite is also found in deserts on Earth.The reddish color covers 2/3 of Mars.The other 1/3 of the planet is a bluish-gray color.
There are three different missions that have been sent to Mars.The Rover,Soviet,and Viking.The Rovers was sent to find liquid water in 2003.The Soviets were sent to study one of Mars's moons,Phobos.The Vikings were sent to Mars to find evidence of possible life on Mars.
Mars has Volcano that stand twice as tall as Mount Everest.It has two moons,Phobos and Deimos.It has two permanent Ice caps.It has Valleys,and channels that don't have liquid flowing through them any more.
MARS EXPLORATION
The weather on Mars is alot colder than Antarctica.The average surface temperature is about -65 degrease Fahrenheit.The extreme surface temperature can get to be -225 degrease Fahrenheit.Low wind speeds can get to be 4 MPH during a dust storm.The ground material is more like flour than sand.
