"WAT HAPPENS DOWN SOUTH" Slaves went through a lot of trouble down south. African Americans only found comfort in there own culture. They also made time for society activities, even after long and exhausting work days. Religion also played a huge part in slave culture. In Africa many Black people were Muslims, but when the Whites invaded Africa they started to preach christanity to them and made Africans changed to christanity. They would then attend White churches and worship in secret. They would also sing spirtuals while they worked to express there relgious beliefs. Slaves had it really bad if they did something wrong. They had got whipped really bad and left terrible looking marks on there backs. This would happen when slaves would talk back or tried to escape.
