Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds have hyperkinetic (extremly flixible) wings to help them fly.
The normal flight speed of a hummingbird is between 25 and 30 mp/h although they can reach speeds of up to 100 mp/h.
The normal wing beat of a hummingbird is between ten and eighty beats per second but when proforming speed dives they can reach speeds of up to two hundred beats per second.
Food
While 90% of a hummingbird's diet comes from nectar these birds also need to eat sap and insects to keep their energy levels up.
To stay up but keep light at the same time the tiny birds consume only between 3.14 and 7.6 calories per day.
Amazingly, 25- 30% of a hummingbird's body is made up of muscle.
