Queen Isabella was very religious and was given the name ''La Catlicaiven '', meaning The Catholic.
Isabella and Ferdinand had five children: 4 girls and 1 boy. Her daughters were well educated, which was unuaul at the time. After her son, John, died, Ferdinand divorced her because she was unable to produce another male heir.
Isabella was betrothed to John 11 of Aragon at age 3. However, she married at age thirteen to someone different. She married Ferdinand of Aragon This didn't stop other men though, becuase throughout her life she was being betrothed to, or her hand was always being asked for in marriage.
Queen Isabell I of Castile was born on April 22nd, 1451, and she died on November 24th, 1504.
Queen Isabella was Queen of Spain at the time of Christopher Columbus's discovery voyage. Isabella and the King sponsered the voyage.
Isabella's father died when she was three. Soon after, her older brother became King Henry IV. When asked to be the heir of the throne to her brother, she refused the first time.
