Thomas Paine
Background: Thomas failed school by the age of 12. He then began working under his father as his apprentice, but he also failed him. Thomas then went out to sea at the age of 19. As a result he found himself in England as a excise officer. It then led to journalism while he was in Philadelphia, thenThomas Paine became very important. In 1776, he published Common Sense. Then continued on with his career from there.
Born: January 29, 1737 in Thetford, England. Death: June 8, 1809, died at the age of 72, in Greenwich Village, New York City,
