A day in the life of a REALTOR By Alex James
Business: Keller Willams Realty Mentor: Debbie Allen
You control your Money
There is no set salary. You earn money from a comission for each house you sell. So there is no set salary. It all depends on how much you try to succed and work. You get a comission depending on how much the house was. Say you get 6% comission, and you sell a house for $200,000. You still earn $12,000 dollars.Thats just one house. If you do well and try hard, you could easily make $100,000. Comission averages any where from 2.5% to 6%.
Education and hours
To become a realtor, you need to have a High- School diploma, you need to takr a real estate course, and you need to take a state exam. You can work whenever honestly. You may get a call at 9 P.M to show a house. 40 hrs average, 2-3 nights per week, most weekends, and somtimes holidays.
Advancements/ Promotions and Skills Some advancements are- 1. You make more money. 2. Become a broker. 3. Have more flexibility. You have to be extremely honest, hard working, and you have got to be on time. Technology is a very big part of a being a relator. You have to check programs to show clients new houses, emails, and text or return phone calls. Its a very important aspect of the job. All three of the jobs my mentor has to do daily have to do with technology. She has to check the MLX, return emails, and return calls.
