The impact of the space program is big especially big on Titusville. It's right next to Cape Carnaval, where the shuttle takes off. Titusville gets a huge economic boost in almost every phase of buisness. The hotel buisness gets lots of touriist, so do restaurants and gas stations, and grocery stores and so on and so on. Even small gas stations get affected by the new level of travelers. But the shuttle is being shut down. And without economic boost that they get from the shuttle launches, some shops could lose their stores and buisness.
The Cape Carnival and Cape Kennedy area gets lots of buisness from the space center and tourist area that they have. The space center brings in lots of tourism and money for the area, meanwhile the tourist pour boat loads of money into items and things they could get anywhere else for a way cheaper price. But that brings in lots of extra money, so I can't complain. The tourist that come in on planes and cars also liiter money throughout Florida. So, you see, we actually get lots of money where you wouldn't generally think we were getting some. So we actually get lots of money.
Now, while the whole space program gives us lots of money, it also takes alot of maney away. It cost about 1..7 Billion to create a shuttle. Then it cost about 450 million dollars to launch it into space, along with diffrent repair cost and other things like that.
