I was born in in 1853, more than 115 years ago, but my artwork is still altering the way mankind views beauty, persona, individuality, and style in art. People many still to this day try to replicate my work, but no one has duplicated it yet. My life and persona inspires many to become active in art and hold the “artist persona”. When I moved to Paris in 1886 the impressionists and post impressionists influenced my work. I first started with a dark muted palette and they influenced me to use brighter colors. My use of quick brush strokes and long curvy lines altered art history for years to come.
