Nucleus
Chromosome
The Nucleus is the site that controls a lot of the functions of a eukaryotic cell. It houses and protects the cells DNA, and it also is where DNA is turned into RNA.
The DNA in the nucleus is called chromatin when the cell isn't dividing, but when the cell does divide it condenses and forms chromosomes.
Chromatin
The nuclear envelope is a double membrane that surrounds the nucleus. It is constructed of two phospholipid bilayers.
The Nucleolus is the center of the nucleus and also where DNA is processed into ribosomes. Ribosomes are organelles that control protein synthesis.
