Plasma Membrane
Plasma Membrane is the membrane that seperates the inside part of the cells from the outside environment
3 main functions of the plasma membrane is that it only allows certain molecules to leave or enter the cell. Second it separates internal metabolic reactions from the outside environment. Lastly the membrane allows its cell to excrete wastes and to interact with the environment.
Structure The membrane is around the cell and is made up of proteins and phospholipids. The phospholipids surround most of the cell and the proteins are there so waste and other materials can leave and enter the cell as seen in the picture below and to the left.
Shape The shape depends on how the actual cell is shape because it surrounds the whole cell.. The picture to the left shows this.
Composition The Cell membrane is composed of Lipids, Carbohydrates, and Proteins.
