There really is no set date for the creation of the piano.The earliest pianos that we know of were lightweight objects, hardly sturdier in framing than a contemporary harpsichord, with thin strings of iron and brass and tiny hammers covered with leather. During the Classical era, when pianos first became used widely the piano was only somewhat more robust and more than just a simple wooden frame with metal strings.
