First, we read the story. The Keeping Quilt by: Patricia Polacco and discussed traditions and heritage.

Our Keeping Quilt

We even made audios about what made our pieces special.

Then we arranged the pieces and sewed them in place.

Next, we each brought a piece of fabric that was special to us.

Finally, we displayed it before sending it to a marine in Afghanistan.

What a beautiful quilt! I am so impressed with everyones hard work What a great group of kids. PLease send them my thanks and "well done" for thier efforts. Can't wait to see Colin take a picture of his quilt wrapped around him. Thanks for sending him the love.
