Gettysburg address
-November 19, 1863. -called it a "monumental act". -dedicating the Gettysburg bettlefiled as soldier's national cemetery to honor the Americans who died there.
-the honor went to Edward Everett. -there are five known manuscripts in the Gettysburg Address.
