National: People pressured the national gov to do away with child labor because it was lowering other workers wages.
Fight For womens Suffrage: Before the civil war, married middle-class women were generally expected to devote their time to the care of their homes & families. Many of the women who became active in public life in the late 19th century had attended the new women's colleges. With higher educated women want to vote, so women faught back in an attempt to convince others, they pull lines like: 'Aren't women citizens too?'
