Trans-Alantic Slave Trade
Consequences: Slave trade had consequences on both continents. Approximatley 8 million Africans were killed during their storage, travel, and landing in the new world. Many African towns were left without any men to help take care of the village, due to the fact that most were captured by native tribes to be sold to the Europeans. In the case of long term Consequences, slaves ended up causing a complete revuloution in America, The Abolishmetn of Slavery even helped cause the civil war.
conditions: The Africans had to be moved all the way across the Atlantic, plus the fact that the Europeans wanted to take as many slaves as possible with every boat. In some cases, the boats were so packed with slaves that the curtakers had to litterally crawl over people just to get through
Why? During the 1500's, The European Traders needed a more efficent way to grow crops and other labor in the New World. Instead of using the Native Americans, they used Africans,who were more immune to the European Diseases and were less likely to escape due to their lack of knowladge of the land. This way,they were able to get more work from less people
