Carlos II was born on November 6, 1661. He was the only living heir of his father, Philip IV of Spain, and was the last king of the Habsburgs. He was born mentally and physically disabled, and he was not a very powerful ruler. Spain would not do well under his rule and he would also cause the War of the Spanish Succession.
