Identity theft and Fake IDs are a growing issues in Canada and other countries like USA and the UK. These crimes continue to grow around the world and it is time to take action to reduce their numbers. Many people become a target of identity theft each year and a number of people obtain fake ID cards for their own beneficial purposes. It may not sound as serious as it really is because we generally to hear stories at brief, which include the information about the crime, losses and the victim or criminal but do we know about the aftershock effects those incidents have on our identity? When people use fake IDs, they are putting themselves in a risk of being classified as a criminal in your record. This has forever-lasting affects on your life, identity, and what people conceive you as in the public. This one of the easiest ways of getting a criminal record, there are tens of thousands of people that caught with a fake ID every year in Canada and the US, if someone is ever caught one, they can lose the chance of going abroad, privileges, potential job opportunities and much more. The unfortunate thing is that many people take that risk, most of them are minors and others are usually thieves, terrorists or con men. Most of the time, minors use fake IDs to get into nightclubs or pubs, drive cars or buy things like tobacco that are only legal for adults. Fake IDs are also a very important tool for criminals because they need them to keep themselves under disguise or lay the blame on someone else. But government officials say that it is a stupid risk to take, even for mastermind criminals because it is very easy to get caught. There are many ways of telling if an ID is real or not; one of the best ways is the accuracy of the information printed on it. Another method that bounces usually use is seeing if you can recite the information on it without hesitation, they also check holograms and templates, their most effective way is to see if an ID is fake or not is by seeing how you react if they say that they are going to call the police on you. Now days there are very severe penalties for people that get caught using a fake ID; you can land in jail, have to pay high fines, and suspensions of your real IDs. And if you believe that whoever caught you wont expose you, think again! Sometimes fake IDs are confiscated and they are shown in public with your picture and real identity there for the whole world to see! Using a fake ID sounds almost too minor to be called a crime but don’t think that you wont get caught if you do use one. Identity theft is also a growing issue through out the world. According to some statistics, someone becomes a victim of identity theft every four seconds in North America. As a technical term, identity theft means using someone else’s identity for your benefits and make them the one who deals with the consequences. There are many ways you can become a victim; the thief could hack your accounts/computer, steal your mail, buy your information from the black market, and phishing. The thieves can use your identity for opening new accounts and defaming someone, using your money, or committing a crime by your name. Victims of ID theft lose from $500-$15 0000 in debts and service fees and it usually close ones who commit identity theft against you. In fact there are more severe penalties for people who commit identity theft, usually they end up in jail or have to pay a fine and the owner the money they spent. However, these criminals seldom get caught and it is hard to ultimately shut down identity theft so everyone should stay on a guard and try to give out the least amount of personal information as possible. Identity theft and fake IDs are two issues that put your identities at risk, try to avoid them as much as possible for the sake of your true identity.
