Abortion Obama is pro-choice when it comes to abortion and believes that is is the woman's body therefore, the woman has the right to choose. McCain believes that the Roe Vs. Wade is flawed and should be overturned so that no women can have abortions no matter what. Ellen and Aleia agree with Obama in that it should be the woman's choice.
Why we're Democratic... We are democratic because we share many of the same beliefs as the democratic party. We agree on the most important issues. Unlike Republicans we are more liberal. Republicans tend to be more conservative.
Health Care McCain plans to give health care credits to help people buy health insurance. Obama plans to keep insurance for those who already have it, but the amount you pay will be less, and he says, '' If you are one of the 45 million Americans who do not have health insurance, you will after this.'' Ellen and Aleia completely agree with Obama.
Why we want Obama. We want Obama to become president because we agree with him on many issues. Some issues we agree with him on are Health Care, Abortion, Same sex marriages, and stem cell research.
Same Sex Marriage Obama believes in a marriage between a man and a woman.However, he also believes that this decision should be left to the state. McCain also believes in marriage between a man and a woman but believes that the current law shouldn't be changed. We believe that same sex marriages are okay and should be legal!
Environment For once both candidates agree on capping carbon emissions. Both believe that we should be dealing with Global Warming caused by humans. We agree with both Candidates on this specific issue.
Social Security McCain thinks younger workers should have part of their taxes put into an account with their name on it while Obama believes the retirement ages should be higher, but they should recieve social security and anyone with a wage higher then 250,000 a year should be taxed. Aleia and I agree with McCain on this one topic.
Stem Cell Research Both Obama and McCain agree that the laws on stem cell research should be loosened. We agree with both candidates.
Iraq McCain supports the war and thinks the current strategy is working so we should keep the troops in Iraq. Obama voted against the war and is against increasing the number of troops in Iraq. He wants to withdraw them but not right away. Obama wants to wait 16 months before he takes them out of Iraq. Both of us agree with Obama.
Guns McCain is not for gun control and believes the second amendment should be preserved. He does think that there should be background checks at gun control. Obama wants a ban on all semiautomatic and wants tighter state restrictions on all firearms. Ellen and Aleia agree with McCain.
