Preparations The codename for d-day was operation overload. 12,000 airplanes were airbourneand 7,000 vessels were transporting 160,000 troops over the English Channel. Operation overload took place on June 6, 1944. A lot of Boot Camp was being done by the soldiers. The Commanders give speeches to motivate the soldiers.
Ralph Jenkins He was 24 years old when the war started. He was the squadron operations officer of the 510th based at Christchurch. He was apart of the air attack. There was almost no air attack being done on d-day mostly just spying over the Germans seeing what kind of artillery they had.
