The flag of the Czech Republic, last adopted on 30 March 1920, features the Slavic colors of red, white, and blue. A blue triangle is situated on the left-hand side, and white sits above the red on the right side. White, the traditional color of Bohemia, represents the sky; red represents Moravia and the blood shed for freedom; and blue, the traditional color of Slovakia, represents sovereignty. In 1993, when Czechoslovakia became two independent states, the Czech Republic kept this flag as its symbol.
