An amazing Trip My best summer holiday ever was when I went to Scotland! I went by plane, obviously, because Scotland is too far from Madeira to go by boat. I went with my mother and with my cousin Isabel. I spent one week there, at Easter, because in the summer there are too many people, so it’s very confusing. I visited the Lockness Lake, I saw the Castle where they film Harry Potter adventures, I went on lots of excursions with people from New Zealand, Australia, Italy and London too! They were all very kind, specially the guide of the tour. Scottish people have a lot of humour. The Lockness Lake is amazing. When I visited it there was a lot of fog, and I went by boat so it was scary and fantastic at the same time. In the sightseeing’s I had a lot of fun, as well as everybody on the bus. We danced a traditional Scottish folk dance while it was snowing (it was very cold, and it was the first time I saw it by my self), we saw the fields where there were lots of battles (especially between the Highlanders and the Jacobins), and those old cemeteries where there are buried some kings, Queens and other important people. It was really interesting. The food there, is very good because it is healthy and they don’t eat a lot of fast food (I think that it is awful!). A traditional dish of Scotland is Haggis, which is made from the stomach of the sheep…ugh! The Scottish breakfasts are also very tasty and complete! We ate yoghurt, cereals, juice, eggs, jam, toasts, sausages, potatoes and a black thing that I don’t Know how to name it. I wish I could eat it here in Madeira. I bought some souvenirs (rubbers, postcards, pens, pencils and rules). It’s a way to remember the places I visited. Ins Maria Tranquada Gomes, n 12, 82
