It wasn't until Carthage, under the leadership of Philip V, almost destroyed Rome that the Romans became worried. Philip V and Antiochus III were both empire builder and Rome became suspicious. This lead to the Second Macedonian War. The Romans were lead by Flaminius and eventually won the war. Declared all Greek cities free. The Romans drove Antiochus away from Greece and the Romans were now the protectors of Greece.
