Richard Nixon has done many great things but one thing he will be known most for is the Watergate Scandal. The Watergate Scandal began with a break in at the Watergate complex, where Nixon's competitor for presidency, George Mcgovern, was staying at the time. The people that broke in were charged with conspiracy, burglary, and violation of federal wire-tapping laws. Nixon was suspected of being a part of the Watergate crimes, but was later pardoned by Gerald R. Ford
