Economic
Throughout the whole book, poverty is the one thing that is spread across the South Asia. Most of the people in the Pakistan area live in uninhabitable places, with little to no money, no doctors, no development, and most importantly, no schools. In Korphe, it is shown that the people there don't have doctors, so they have do climb down a cliff and cross a river to get to a doctor, which can take days. There are also many houses that are made of mud, which are not very strong, so this shows that they are very poor. Also, foods that may seem normal for us to eat, are delicacies in Pakistan, like sugar, we put it in almost everything every day, but people in Korphe don't have the ability to use as much sugar as we do, this shows that they have a low per capita income. Many people in Pakistan die every year because of bad hygene and malnutrition in the area, so they have a very a high mortality rate., and most of the babies die because of that too, so they also have a high infant mortality rate. This shows that they are a developing nation, and by that, the life expectancy is being lowered significantly. A big reason why Pakistan has a bad economy is because people don't have schoolds to go to so that they can be educated, so the literacy rate is very low, causing them not to be able to communicate very well with other countries. Most of Pakistan is based on agriculture, and there is a lot of subsistence farming, but there is also manufacturing in the eastern side of Pakistan, that is the GDP. Overall, Pakistan is having a very bad economic crisis.
