....GEAR UP
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a federally funded program designed to significantly increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The Kennesaw State University/Chattahoochee Technical College GEAR UP Program serves 800 8th graders at Marietta Middle School in Marietta, Georgia. The program will follow the class to Marietta High School and will continue to serve the students through high school graduation. GEAR UP provides students with college preparatory services such as academic advising, college and career counseling/exploration, college and career visits, tutoring, as well as weekly workshops exploring choices, etiquette, finances, success, the importance of the environment, etc.
