Baseball's influence on American society is huge. Astoundingly huge. So huge that there are over 20 major league teams, hundreds of Little Leagues, and hundreds upon thousands of eyes glued to the TV to see their pavorite player. It's even been declared the national pastime since its been around about 150 years ago.
Above are two stadiums: Wrigley Field at Chicago, and Citizen Bank Park at Philidelphia, home to the cheese stake. Baseball stadiums are huge, going to show how many people are willing to drive all the way to see a dozen or so players throw and hit balls. Most stadums hold about 45000 people, but Citizen Bank Park goes way beyond that at 62000 people.
From top left: Alexander Cartwright, the maker of modern baseball rules; Ted Williams, one of the best hitters in history,, unfortunatly deceased; Sammy Sosa, the slugger of the NL, once holding the most amounts of home runs hit in one season. Many people like them are household names in America, and in Canada too. Many ametuers and pros alike want to be just as good as them. Many people have these famous stars as their role models and many people have jerseys of their farvorite players. Those who have them will go to baseball games wearing the jersey and, if you're like the LA Angels, bring along a miniature mascot.

A trusty baseball bat, baseball, and glove. These things can be found in most American households. Many suburban people will take their families out to the local park on weekends to play a friendly game of baseball. However humble these things may be, MLB players spend a lot to get the most suitable bat and glove they can get. Baseballs caught in baseball games are sought after and autographed bats, balls, and gloves are a huge hit with fans, who will mob players to get a few strokes of a pen. Many American baseball fans would like to get their hands on rare autographed memorabilia.
The baseball world in America is divided into two sides; the American League, and the National League. The NL is the older of the two and each year, the 2 top teams, one from each league, face off in the playoff World Series in October. People across the nation flock to the two battling cities to see who is going to be the champion of baseball. Those who aren't able to go there super-glue their eyes to the TV and also watch. Loyaties are fiercly divided giving people a sense of national pride.
