Most programs can be run off flash drives instead of installing them on the host computer. This includes diagnostic and computer repair programs.

Flash drives can be encrypted so that the information can not be accessed if the device is lost or stolen.
To operate a flash drive, simply insert it in one of the USB ports of any computer.Usually a sound will play when the computer recognizes the device and a screen will pop open asking what you want to do.
