Volleyball
The first time I picked up a volleyball I was nine years old. I found a volleyball in my garage and I asked my mom what it was. From then on I have lived and breathed volleyball. In 2005 I competed in my first Junior Olympic Games in New Orleans. I played in the U14 division even though I was only twelve years old at the time. Every year since then I have competed at the Junior Olympic Games. I have gone to Florida, California, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, and other places to play volleyball. I play both indoor and beach volleyball but I prefer the beach over indoor. I am planning on getting a scholarship and playing volleyball in college. When I am playing, I forget about everything else that doesn’t matter. I am only focused on the game. Often times it helps me to become unstressed. Volleyball has taught me to be focused and to work hard. I know that if i try my best and practice that I will succeed. Volleyball can be compared to life in many ways. You can dive for every ball, but your not always going to get them up. Just like in life how sometimes when you try, you can fail but you just have to get up and try again.Volleyball is a major part of my life and I don’t know where I would be without it.
