Women played a large role in the war by taking over jobs that were previously done by men. By 1941 women made up 40 percent of the soviet labour force. Women built ships and planes, produced munitions, and staffed offices.
The civilians in World War II contributed to the war in a couple of different ways. First, they used different forms of propoganda to gain widespread support for the war. Next, they manufactured airplanes and tanks to help the war effort. Finally, consumer goods were rationed so there were more resources to be used in the war.
