Karl Marx was the most influential socialists thinker to emerge in the 19th century. He was born in Germany on May 5, 1818. At the age of seventeen Marx enrolled in the Facility of Law at the University of Bonn. The following year Marx father sent him to the more serious University of Bulin. Karl Marx became a member of the Young Hegelian movement. This group produced a radical critique opposition to the Prussian autocracy. Marx moved into journalism and, in October 1842, became editor of a literal newspaper backed by industrialists. Marx died March 14, 1883 and was buried at Highgate Cemetery in North London.
