Bangladesh’s education systems divides into four categories, grades 1-5 is called primary school, grades 6-10 are called secondary school, grades 11-12 are called higher secondary, and there is also tertiary.
One of the main recreational sports in Bangladesh is called cricket. Cricket is played in a circular stadium and is similar to baseball. Cricket is also very popular in other countries as well.
Bangladesh is in a parliamentary democracy. The conventional long name is The People’s Republic of Bangladesh. During March 26, 1971, Bangladesh gained it’s independence from West Pakistan. This day is also a national holiday celebrating Bangladesh’s independence from West Pakistan. This day is very much alike our 4th of July.
Bangladesh is made up mostly of deltas of rivers. It is mostly flat except for a few hills in the southeast. Bangladesh is very likely to flood because of its low, flat land. Bangladesh is a basic tropical– monsoon type of climate with temperatures averaging 78 d F.
The main religion in Bangladesh is Muslim. In fact, about 83% of Bangladesh’s population is Muslim. Another major religion is Hinduism. 16% of the population is Hindu and 1% is other religions.
Some of the resources of Bangladesh are natural gas, arable land, and timber. Natural gas is a big industry because gas is used for most every day activities like driving.
The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. In Bangladesh, the official language is called Bengali. The full population is 156,050,833.On Bangladesh’s flag, there is a red disk inside of a green background. The red disk stands for the rising sun and the fight for freedom. The green background stands for the lush vegetation of the country.
One food that is a part of Bangladesh’s cuisine is called kheer, meaning milk. Another type of food is called peetha. Peetha cand be made into different shapes and is used mainly for weddings.
