Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act: : Commonly known knows as the Superfund Act, established a program to clean up abandoned and illegal hazardous waste sites across the United States. At many of these waste sites hazardous chemicals have soaked deep into the soil and have cause pollution in the groundwater. The greatest threat from hazardous waste sites is when people near these sites drink the water laced with the contaminates.
