Solar Power
How it works??
When the sun shines on “solar cells,” they absorb its energy causing a chemical reaction that generates electricity. The electricity generated by these solar cells – or photovoltaic system – can be used at homes and factories or it can be stored in a battery. This stored energy then can be used at night.
The Advantages
Clean Renewable low/no mantince sustainable save you money Enviromently friendly Reduces health costs
Causes Polution Takes up large spaces Only helpful when the sun is shining The cost of the pannels are expensive
Disadvantages
Is it renewable?
Yes it is because it comes from the sun and there is always a drop of sun light
Where is it used in NZ
It is used in alot of houses around NZ. It is also used in alot of public places
Why should we use it?
I think we should use it because it is good for the enviroment and it doesnt cause pollution.
