Shield Volcano This volcano is more like a hill then a mountain. The slope is low but it is wide, like a night’s shield. The eruptions are not big and dramatic like the others. The lava is thick like honey but the lava travels far to make the shield look of this volcano. It is made in “hot spots” that the earth has were lava comes to the crust of the earth. Hawaii is known to have volcanoes and one of the most popular is Mauna Loa which is a shield volcano.

Stratovolcano This highly explosive volcano is responsible for destroying Pompeii. The lava dose not move fast in most cases, the explosion and the ash cloud and bombs is the result of the destruction because the lava moves so slow that most people move before it hits them. These volcanoes are found on top of subductoion faults. This volcano looks like a mountain with its steep slope and towering size.
Cinder Cone the Cinder Cone is the most common volcano and is popular in Hawaii. It only erupts as a gazer but other then that the lava comes out in a breach. As the lava is in the air it hardens making bombs so the lava is rough. These volcanoes are found mostly on other volcanoes. Parcutin is a famous cinder cone volcano. Cinder cones have a steep slope but there not that big. There big bole carder makes it unstable. When it dose explode the force makes the carder land slides down the slope making a U shape.
