The Amazon holds up to 1/10 of the worlds known species. This makes it home to the largest collection of species in the world. It also holds up to 40,000 plant species, 3,000 fish species, 1,924 birds, 427 mammals, 428 amphibians, and 378 reptile species.

The Amazon RIver holds up to 1/5 of the worlds river flow. It is the second largest river, after the Nile, but is larger than any other river in any other dimensions. During the wet season, the AMazon River acan reach up to 202 miles in width.
