Reflections: First of all, It is not easy to plan out a meal. It takes time as well as patience. The most challenging part was making sure the vegetables for the sir-fry were clean and washed well. Also grilling the chicken isn't as easy as it looks and takes time to prepare. I learned that it is never easy to prepare a meal. There are many steps taken to make or prepare a meal. The steps are planning, shopping, making, and then preparing. You have to plan out, know what you are going to buy so that you don't waste time. In the end, I experienced something new and different. I learned that the nutrition value of my meal was high, meaning that my mom and I chose a healthy meal. When I was at the supermarket, I compared two brands of chicken, Perdix and Sadia. Perdix was less expensive because it was mainly fat and Sadia being a chicken breast was more expensive. My grilled chicken was high in protein and my vegetables were high in carbohydrates, sodium, protein, and fiber. According to the food pyramid, this is a well-balanced meal. It includes meat, beans, and vegetables. Yes, there was a great difference. When I was in the chicken section, there were many different types of chicken. My example is the Sadia chicken breast compared to the Perdix chicken thighs. The chicken was different in terms of fat, in this situation Perdix chicken thighs were higher in fat. Also the Perdix chicken thighs were higher in calories then the Sadia chicken breast. In the end, the Perdix chicken thighs were cheaper than the Sadia chicken breast. I used the Sadia chicken breast for my grilled chicken. I noticed that non-organic products were more expensive than organic products. Organic products were higher in sodium and fiber, and non-organic products were higher in protein. There was a large variety of organic products compared to non-organic products in the supermarket.
