My Favorite Soldier
HIs arms around me holding me tight, he said he'd never let go. Lying beside him watching him sleep, he said he'd never leave. Talking on the phone for hours, he said he'd never hang up. Dancing in the moonlight, he said he'd never stop. Sleeping in his arms watching me sleep, he siad he'd never close his eyes. On a road trip to anywhere but home, he said he'd never stop till we got there. And the one time we made love, he said he'd never forget!! And when he said ''I do'' i couldnt stop crying When he said ''death till us kpart'' i just trembled. Two days later we got a letter in the mail saying they needed him in the war. i begged and begged for him not to leave, and he said he'd never leave he'll always be here. 42 letters later it was our annaversery. i got a letter in the mail, and two soldiers at my door. he was right; he never hung up, he never stopped, he never closed his eyhes, never not once did he let go, and most of all it was deth when we parted. But he'll always live in my heart, the sky, and the ground below me... he always lived just because he's not walking or breathing doesnt mean he's not there: Watching me sleep, holding me tight, or calling me, and he'll always be taking me on a trip! He'll always live in my heart, he alwaysed lived. I hold the folded flag, and all i can think is ''he's still alive.'' When the shots get fired i fall to my knees, and lay there, hoping it's just a dream. I never got to give him his anniversery gift, and he'll never know....till we get there to see him By: Ashlynn
