A variety of technologies have been proposed to capture the energy from waves. They can be installed in nearshore, offshore, and far offshore locations.
There are different types of wave technologies used to harness wave power, including the terminator device, point absorber, attenuators, over-topping devices, sea-going vessels and the oyster wave.
Wave power varies considerably in different parts of the world, and wave energy can't be harnessed effectively everywhere.
