MADONNA Madonna was born Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone in Rochester, Michigan on August 16, 1958. She moved to New York in the late 70's. There she became the pop star she is today. She went on to make number one hits, and start a family. Madonna is a non-conformist because of her ambiguous symbol of a new feminism in her combination of vulgarity and shrewdness. She was arguably the best-known women in the world at the height of her popularity.
