Avalon
After King Arthur is wounded by his son, sir Mordred, in battle, he is tended to and put in a boat with maidens shrouded in black to depart to Avalon.
Avalon supposedly lies off the coast of Great Britan, or “across the sea”, quite possibly Greenland or Glastonbury.
Avalon was home to one of the Celtic underworld Gods, Afallach
Avalon means 'Isle of apples'
St Joseph of Arimathea was also said to have been buried in Avalon.
Avalon was a Celtic haven, and a place where Kings would go when they neared death. ~Avalon was also called Glastonia~
The Legend states that king Arthur only sleeps at Avalon to awaken again when Great Britan needs him most.
