SOURCE It all starts when the cows eat different types of grass and they then turn the grass into milk , The Fonterra farmers then milk the cows using special technology so it doesn't hurt the cows. The Milk is then testied for any bacteria and cleaned so it's nice and fresh for the Tip Top factory.
TRANSPORT The Milk is then transported to the Tip Top factory, the big Fonterra truck is actually like a huge refrigirator carring lots of milk .
HOMOGENIZER Then afterall the bacteria is gone the ice-cream is then sorted into square inches and the hot mixture is forced through a small opening into the homogenizer. This breaks down the fat particles and prevents them from separating from the rest of the mixture
PASTEURIZATION The blended mixture is then piped to the pasteurization machine, Hot water, approximately 83C, flows on one side of the plates. The cold milk mixture is piped through on the other side. The water warms the mixture to a temperature of 82C, effectively killing any existing bacteria.
AT THE FACTORY The milk arrives at the Tip Top factory from local dairy farms. The milk is then pumped into storage silos that are kept at 2C, Pipes bring the milk in pre-measured amounts to a blenders.. Premeasured amounts of eggs, sugar, and additives are blended with the milk for six to eight minutes.
COOLING The mixture is piped back to the pasteurizer where cold water, flows on one side as the mixture passes on the opposite side., By this the mixture is cooled to 2 C. Then the mixture is pumped to tanks in a room where it sits for four to eight hours for the ingredients to blend..
FLAVOURING After the mixture is all cooled off , Whatever the flavour the workers are making, they add all the extra sugear, colours and flavouring for example Cookies & Cream they would add the Oreo mix and a bit of extra cream.. After that process is finished the ice-cream is off for for more cooling .
DELIVERY. When the ice-cream all ready packed in a box, sealed in a container, it is then taken to the supermarkets, in a huge truck for you customers to buy, ANd from then on it's all in your own hands. Tip Top icecream does alot of promotions and heaps of funny adverts on tv, billboards etc Tip Top has alot of different flavours so it's even more fun to eat.
